WHY ?
As per the National program, "1 LOM 1 NEEDY SCHOOL" we have decided to adopt a needy Govt school in Palghat town. JFM N Haridas was appointed as the Project director and a committee was also formed to find out the school and implement the project. As per committee’s report, Koppam Govt LP school was the needed school, because, the school is 111 year old and now at a stage of closing down due to insufficient quality .The school consists of 54 students from LKG to 4th STD, and five permanent and two temparory teachers, So JCI PALGHAT decided to adopt KOPPAM GOVT LP SCHOOL.
INAUGURATION..
Adoption of the needy school was inaugurated by our EVP JFM Lathik D Shetty on 3/3/2011, IPNP Jc Sen Santhosh Kumar P was the chief guest, Chapter president Jc HGF Ranjith Vijayan chaired the program, Zone President JFM Anoop, Zone Director Jc Sen Jayagopal, Zone Director Jc ALI, Zone Director Jc Asif, Programme Director JFM N Haridas, Secretary Jc CP Abdul Salam & School Head Mistress Smt Mini felicitated, Vote of thanks by Smt Naseeema (PTA President) All our Jc Members , School students and parents Attended the programme.
WHAT’S DONE…
JCI Palghat arranged two qualified teachers for computer education from 1st standard onwards.
Arranged Audio Visual training programme, involved students in nature friendly classes to improve the quality and standard of education. Gave educational materials and eqipments to improve the mental efficiency of children, educated children to have a clean and green environment.
A BLOG containing full details of adopted school was designed in Internet, The BLOG was inaugurated by Asst. Educational Officer Mr.Mohandas. Chapter President Jc. HGF. Ranjith Vijayan chaired the program, Proj. director JFM Haridas, Jc. Sen. Krishna Prasad Ottoor,Head Mistrs Mini addressed the function, Vote of thanks by Secretary Jc HGF Abdul Salam C.P.
JCI palghat donated a complete audio system to the adopted School which was very much essential to them, In a function held , the audio system was handed over to the School by Our EVP Lathik D Shetty IPNP Jc Sen Santhosh Kumar P, Chapter president Jc HGF Ranjith Vijayan, Secretary Jc HGF Abdul Salam CP, and other members of JCI and School PTA were present.
We have arranged a Digital Library in the adopted school and it was inaugurated by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Dist Project Officer Mr.Sethumadhavan. An Entrepreneur training camp was conducted at Palghat Koppam by Entrepreneurial Development Programme trainer Mr. Dileep. Parents of all the students in adopted School and leaders of neigbouring KUDUMBHA SREE microfinance units attended the program. Chapter President Jc HGF Ranjith Vijayan Welcomed all, Proj Dir JFM N Haridas, Head Mistrs Mini, Indian Bank Regional Manager and many Jaycees and Jayceerettes attended the program. A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR THE TEACHERS IN THE ADOPTED SCHOOL WAS CONDUCTED on MARCH 21, 2011. AT KOPPAM Govt LP SCHOOL. JC.SEN. KRISHNA PRASAAD OTTOOR WAS THE TRAINER. THE TRAINING WAS ON SUBJECTS OF 1) SKILL DEVELOPMENT 2) GROOMING 3) SELF AND CHILDREN ANALYSIS. CHAPTER PRSIDENT Jc. HGF. RANJITH VIJAYAN CHAIRED THE PROGRAMME, SECRETARY Jc HGF CP ABDUL SALAM DELIVERD VOTE OF THANKS.
Adopted school annieversary was celeberated, Chapter President Jc HGF. RANJITH VIJAYAN chaired the programme. Municipal counselor Miss Kamala G Menon inaugurated and Jc Sen Santhosh Kumar P (IPNP) was the chief Guest. Head Mistrs Smt. Mini presented the report, Secretary Jc Abdul Salam Smt. Rathi (teacher), SSA co ordinator Shylaja (teacher) and BPO addressed the funtion. PTA president Smt Naseema Delivered vote of thanks. Cultural programs were conducted.
A SUMMER CAMP WAS CUNDUCTED AT KOPPAM GOVT LP SCHOOL FOR 1 DAY. 47 CHILDREN, 7 TEACHERS AND 12 PARENTS HAD PARTICIPATED IN THE CAMP. VP CD Jc NIKHIL KODIYATHUR CHAIRED THE FUNCTION, SCHOOL HEAD MISTRESS Mrs MINI INAUGURATED THE CAMP. International Graduate JCI SEN. THOMAS GEORGE WAS THE CHIEF GUEST. VP BUSINESS Jc SANTHOSH KV WELCOMED ALL, FELICITATION BY JFM N HARIDS, Jc VINOD KUMAR, Jc RAJESH KM, SCHOOL TEACHER Mrs. RATHI. SECRETARY Jc HGF CP ABDUL SALAM DELIVERD VOTE OF THANKS. International Graduate JCI SEN. THOMAS GEORGE and JCI ZONE TRAINER JFM N HARIDAS HANDLED THE CLASSES IN CAMP. CULTURAL PROGRAMS WERE CONDUCTED BY JJ CHAIRPERSON JJ MEERA SHAHAANA.
Praveshanolsavam at adopted school conducted by JCI palghat chapter. It was a unforgettable programme in the school history. Chapter president Jc HGF ranjith vijayan chaired the programme. School HM Smt MINI welcomed all, Municipal ward councillor Smt Kamala G Menon Inaugurated the function. JCI secretary JC HGF CP Abdul Salam, Jc. Sen. Krishna prasaad, Jc Vinod kumar felicitated. PTA President Smt. Naseema Delivered vote of thanks. Three Hour Educative cultural programms were conducted with Janardhanan Pudussery. All the students, parents and a lot of public were present. We have given gifts to New Students.
WHATS ON…..
CGB decided that the chapter will supply free uniform, Bag, Books, Umbrella and Identity cards to all the students of the adopted school. Also we wish to provide training in folk songs, arts and crafts and also in traditional arts and communication. We have planned to provide free eco friendly study tours to School students and teachers.
Also with the association with Municipality and education department, we are planning to provide Furniture, stage, maintainance of School ground and garden, etc.
FINALLY……
Adopted school of JCI has started receiving good facilities the teachers and parents of the students
is very happy in the adoption their school by JCI Palghat. The teachers and students need our full help and support to grow and cherish.
The school teachers and parents were suprised by the increase in admission which increased more than 200% this year due to the campaign done by JCI palghat through various medias, and door to door visits.
Viewing the promotion works carried out in the school, the education department officials are approaching JCI Bhavan, whether the chapter can adopt schools of these kinds in and around the city.
This project is going to be remarkable as this is a starting of a new era in the name of Junior Chamber International, Palghat as the public is getting well in aware of the social activities and the training given to all areas. Even the uneducated class nearby the adopted school knows well about what is JCI and within a span, the school will be named as JCI Public School and thereby our beloved National President’s dream of ‘POWER YOUR PR’ will be easily implimented.
